Formed in late 2025 through various mediums, such as school and online gaming, Cargos are already showcasing their second single as a group – titled ‘Gone Too Far’.
Influenced heavily by hometown heroes Arctic Monkeys, alongside some of the 2000’s finest Indie Rock artists, ‘Gone Too Far’ confirms that guitars are not just for decoration in today’s music scene – they are just as powerful as they ever have been.
Bursting into song with a nasty riff and a thunderous kick drum, Cargos demonstrate their tightness as a group instantly.
Bouncing off each other’s sound and creating a soundscape that takes you back twenty years, it leaves you wondering how these five lads are so polished despite embarking on their musical journey less than twelve months ago.
After an intense build up, singer Archie shares his first vocal contribution and well, it blew me away.
Not through sheer vocal talent only, but through the way his voice works perfectly with the instrumentation behind it.
A song that bleeds Sheffield, ‘Gone Too Far’ builds upon the opening note perfectly and honestly, especially the closing 90 seconds, might be the best piece of music I have heard this year.
It’s aggressive in the best possible way. Heavy in the right places but also toned down enough to not make it a ‘specific mood’ song.
Having already supported former Catfish and the Bottlemen star Billy Bibby in such a short career, Cargos have their future in their own hands. Whatever they want, they’ll get it.
Shocked that this song was released in 2026, but so very happy about it.
