Drunk Women Solving Crime

COMEDY PODCASTERS ANSWER QUESTIONS FROM FAMOUS PODCASTS

Welcome to Have I Heard This One Before? Where comedy podcasters answer classic questions from other comedy podcasts, with a few sensible RGM thrown in to the mix. This month we question Drunk Women Solving Crime

The hit true crime comedy podcast Drunk Women Solving Crime hosted by Hannah George and Taylor Glenn started back in 2019. Each episode sees the boozed-up panel tackle personal crime stories, solve true crime cases, and seek justice for your listener crimes. Previous guests include Katherine Ryan, Sarah Pascoe and James Acaster.

Drunk Women Solving Crime

Off Menu: Poppadoms or Bread?

Bread. So many kinds of bread.

How did you get into podcasting?

Drunk Women Solving Crime started with the name first – after sitting around in a pub writing some ideas about how we could deconstruct crime cases with a guest, the podcast was born!

Holly Burn’s Dream House: Where would you choose to have your dream house?

Edinburgh – just to save rent during the Fringe.

What can we expect from your live shows?

Live shows are REALLY fun, the format comes to life with an audience and someone gets to come up at the end and share their own crime tale for a prize (and sure, invaluable life advice).

My Mate Bought a Toaster: What was the first thing you bought on Amazon?

No recollection. It was probably something stupid that I wouldn’t wanna bother buying in person, like shampoo at a 25% markup.

What would be the best episode to listen to for a new listener?

For a sense of our live shows, probably Rosie Jones’ episode. For a good studio episode, Steph McGovern? Don’t make us choose our favourite children though, cmon, they’re ALL special.

Believe?: What’s your favourite conspiracy theory or myth?

Hannah has asthma and I like to wind her up by saying that asthma is a myth.

Who would be your dream guest on the podcast?

Jane McDonald. Every time. I’d have her on every episode if I could.

All Things Comedy: Who would be the headliner for your dream comedy night?

Louis CK. Just kidding. Lou Sanders – I think she’s the funniest stand up working today.

You have been podcasts for seven years, what have been the lows and highs?

The highs are numerous! Selling out a huge room in Edinburgh, winning an Independent Podcast Award, getting lovely messages from listeners over lockdown saying how pleased they were we’d continued putting out eps. In terms of lows – the hangovers.

What Did You Do Yesterday? What was the best thing you did yesterday?

I took my daughter to farm in Bristol, looked at some pigs, went to a food truck and stood up on a packed train all the way back to London and paid £76 for the privilege.

What are the future plans for the podcast?

World domination! But also – we’re in Edinburgh this year, then a UK tour. So lots of lovely live shows!

Comedians Comedian Podcast: Are you happy?

It’s incredibly embarrassing to admit – but yes.

A big thank you to Hannah for giving us her time to answer our question.

Catch their live shows at The Crossed Wires Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and at London’s Museum of Comedy
