COURTING LIVE IN MANCHESTER – WHAT HAPPENED?

A sold out YES pink room played host to one of the hottest punk bands to emerge from Liverpool for some time. Courting were hosting their very own valentines day extravaganza in the appropriately coloured pink room, and love was in the air for this talented five piece.

The band first caught my attention when I accidentally caught their set whilst lost at YNOT? festival last year. I was so impressed that I stuck around and ended up watching the whole set. Their on stage presence and camaraderie is infectious. The audience lapped it up and were fully on board with the randomness that occurred for their strong hour long set.

The band formed back in 2022 and in a short space of time have been labelled by many outlets ‘ones to watch’. Their rise to the top is imminent if tonight’s gig is anything to go by. The band have just released an album ‘New Last Name’ and this evening we were treated to tracks from this and from their previous album ‘Guitar Music’.

“Grand National’ was a fan favourite and people could be heard shouting out a request for this song from the get go! It is hard to pigeon hole this band, as they mix a variety of genres, not too heavy and I personally found them to be a bit Blink 182/Murder Capital (yes a bizarre mix) but it works.

The band are currently on a UK tour and you can find out where to catch them by visiting their website below. I urge you to see these guys in a small venue before they start headlining the likes of The Ritz, and no doubt creeping up the bill of those summer festivals!
