Daisychaindaze – Far From The Madding Crowd

Reflecting on your past and still wanting to be a child is part of growing up. Longing for the innocence and naivety of being a child again?

This track is a comforting reassurance that we all think that at some stage in our lives. John Cartwright’s ‘Daisychaindaze‘ is a project that is definitely nostalgic and paying ode to yesteryears whilst looking hopeful to change the music industry. Unfortunately, the sound of ‘Far From the Madding Crowd‘ feels too far from the mainstream crowd to become a hit, but that doesn’t necessarily matter. Wanting to create music without limitations and specific genre styles, this reflective number is highly emotive.

Inspired by childhood memories of playing in fields and scrapping your knees but not really caring, the track uses stunning imagery of simpler times for the globe. When you’re younger, you simply don’t have a care in the world, and this highly free-spirited number clearly reflects this. Recorded at Windswept Studio, Llanelli, the track was self-produced by John and you can definitely hear a subtle DIY approach to the arrangement. Polished but still somewhat based around a lo-fi soundscape, “Far From the Madding Crowd” stands out from any crowd simply because of its versatile performance.
