If you’re out and about at the Fringe, keep an eye out for the Jimmy’s Iced Coffee rep by the Royal Mile, handing out freebies like a caffeinated fairy godmother. That extra hit of caffeine got me through Late ’n’ Live, where Jordan Gray headlined — and absolutely smashed it.
Ian Smith: Foot Spa Half Empty
Back for another round, Ian Smith returns with Foot Spa Half Empty— a show about nearly having a great year. Nearly. This time, he dives into fertility, ageing, and the peculiar politics of middle-class fruit, delivering razor-sharp observations with his signature twist on modern-day moans. Who knew he could outdo his last nominated outing? Ian is a top teer performer and had the Monkey Barrel crowd howling with laughter — and some hadn’t even had their lunch yet.

Glenn Moore: Please Sir, Glenn I Have Some Moore
A decade in, Glenn’s firmly cemented his status as a Fringe favourite — and this new hour might just be his best yet. Known for his breakneck delivery (seriously, kudos to the live captioner — it was like watching a world record attempt for words typed per minute), Glenn fires through a brilliantly crafted set centred on a doomed road trip to Las Vegas. Along the way, he tackles low self-esteem, fatherhood, and family dynamics, all woven together with more callbacks than any show I’ve seen this year. Razor-sharp, relentless, and prestine writing.

Chloe Petts: Big Naturals
Chloe might just be the most effortlessly comfortable comedian at this year’s Fringe — totally at ease in front of yet another sold-out crowd. She dives into her teenage years, shaped by the lad culture of Page Three, football, and Kasabian, spinning anecdote after anecdote with sharp timing and warm charisma. From dating short women to mistaken identities — and even befriending an audience member mid-toilet break — Chloe keeps the room hooked.The audience was peppered with fellow award-winning comedians, all eager to see one of the most talented voices in their ranks. An absolute privilege to witness.
