EDINBURGH FRINGE : PICKS OF THE DAY – THURSDAY 10TH AUGUST 2023

EDINBURGH FRINGE : PICKS OF THE DAY – THURSDAY 10TH AUGUST 2023

My final day of the Fringe. I ache all over after seeing over 40 shows over six days covering most of Edinburgh’s finest basements and lecture theatres.

Hats off to The Monkey Barrel who offer the fairest deals for performers and audiences, with a chance to pay what you want for shows. If you can’t make it up to Scotland, Next Up Comedy are streaming shows over the next two weeks on their online platform. See you next year Edinburgh Fringe.

JOSH JONES: GOBSMACKED

Each year Josh’s star rises, he is a naturally funny performer who constantly weaves jokes around his rather filthy stories of sex and dating.

It was fun to see some of the more conservative members of the audience’s reactions. I bloody loved it.

GINAVA’S MESSY FRIENDS

A drag show from Down Under, podcast host Ginava combines clips from the podcast discussing their drag/burlesque personas before we see them dance in the flesh. Some spectacular dance moves and costumes.

The show has already won awards in Australia and it’s bound to get more in the UK as it’s possibly the best drag show at the Fringe.

JULIA MASLI: HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA

Julia turned heads last year with her clown show ‘Choosh!’ and this year ‘Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha’ certainly lives up to its title.

It can take a few minutes for the crowd to feel at ease with conversing with Julia and allowing her to discover their fears. Great interaction and creates a superb hour of clowning.
