If you love good music and can appreciate genuine talent, Emily Rhodes is an artist you should be on the lookout for. Recognition for her songs is becoming more apparent with appearances on BBC Introducing and performing at the London O2 arena, to name just a few achievements, and it is certainly deserved. Her latest single, Famous to Me is evidence as to why.
Famous to Me starts straight off. No lead-ins, just Emily’s beautiful voice captivating you from the first second and pulling you into the melodic song. The vocals are sweet and subtle, gentle sounding backing instrumentals accompanying them to create the overall sound that invests you immediately.
It’s got a gorgeous quality to it, where even though there is just a simple verse, chorus, verse, chorus structure, Emily Rhodes brings it completely to life with her authentically real singer-songwriter sound. It feels down to earth, but stunning. You could put this composition on when you are in any mood and feel more uplifted by the end.
She can hit some amazing notes that of course help elevate the track and can quite honestly give you goosebumps. At times, particularly the chorus, the vocals feel a bit strained on the higher parts, but not in a way that feels like she is forcing her voice, in a way that she is pouring genuine emotion into the song.
Famous to Me is definitely one you could find yourself randomly humming, eventually singing along to as well.
There is just something undeniably cute about the track, the positivity oozing out of it, no angst or sadness to be found. It’s just a lovely upbeat track about finding your ideal person in life. What’s not to love?
