Warrington quartet Belmont and the Stocks bring their latest offering “Forget Me Not” – following on from their previous release “Queen of Hearts” back in August 2025 and their debut EP “CHANNEL 90 FOR LOVE SONGS” back in September 2025.
On “Forget Me Not” – Frontman Sean Harris says: “I can tell you its one of my favourites songs I’ve written. ‘Forget Me Not’ is a song that came about accidentally as I played the wrong chords to ‘Decades’. It genuinely grew out of a mistake, but has grown to be my favourite song.”
Interesting! Let’s get into it shall we…
It starts with a gentle guitar strum which grows into it’s own, very chilled out and stripped back, but it works, for an intro though personally, it’s quite long, but I feel like it would work better live.
The vocals soon join in and it compliments the backing track seamlessly, they work together incredibly!
Because of the style of song, the lyrics are incredibly easy to pick up, the song talks about growth, not just physically, but emotionally and in maturity, plenty of reference and metaphors (clever ones may I add) to ‘Forget Me Not’ flowers, which are also on the artwork in a graphic style, subliminal and clever throughout, you can tell thought has gone into this track.
The little details of the track really tie it together, the little what sound like claps throughout the song are a perfect touch and would get crowd interaction live, the backing vocals also elevate it to a different level too.
The song is beautifully thought out and put together, the only criticism I have is the length of the instrumental intro, it’s probably 15-20 seconds too long for me personally, but it doesn’t take anything away from the track itself.
Overall it’s a cracking tune, with passion, emotion and a softer side to Belmont and the Stocks, it’s a very, very good track and shows off what they can do, consider me impressed.
