Gladstone Heroes ‘New Faces’ – Single Review

The 90s and early 2000s of alternative rock have been catapulted into 2026 and that comes in the form of Liverpool rockers Gladstone Heroes. They unite the 90s grit and honesty with the melodic weight of the early 2000s but twisting in the power and urgency of modern rock. Their sound captures a raw but focused approach to alternative rock writing.

‘New Faces’ is the penultimate track on Gladstone Heroes’ debut album G.D.S.H (2026). They recorded the album in their hometown at Crosstown Studios, it was produced and engineered by John Lawton. The album has been on the horizon with a plethora of singles released prior dating back to 2024.

Their introduction came in the form of the appropriately titled ‘Before The Beginning.’ After an exciting build up, the album is finally out with ‘New Faces’ being a standout track from the album.

Textured guitars launch the track straight into high intensity action before relaxing to allow the bass lines to carry characteristic vocals through the verses.

The consistent drumbeats provide a stable foundation throughout the track that have that familiar sound transpiring from their influential musical eras. It isn’t the easiest to tell where the choruses come in in this track which could’ve been highlighted more so with varied melodies and build ups to create more of a story for the song.

The emotionally charged intensity shines through in the bridge as vocals shout out against the soaring guitars. The final chorus stands out more with the effective choice of rapid fire bullet drum riffs and complimenting backing vocals to indicate the summit of the track.
