BRIT rising star Holly Humberstone takes Manchester Academy for the seventh date of our headline ‘Sleep Tight’ Tour.

Being a Holly fan myself, I was curious to see what this show had in store. The Academy is a large closed venue and having only seen the young artist at festivals I wondered how her more intimate shows differed.

The lights dim and Holly’s band bounds on stage. Her 3 piece is made up of James Attwood, Sofia Veie, and Lauren Anderson- a perfect accompaniment to the singer songwriters’ own guitars, pads and keyboards.

To start is cult classic ‘Walls are way too thin’ – the perfect fan favorite to get everyone singing and inspire a sense of togetherness.

Like the performances, I have seen before its moving and meaningful. Although the lights, glitz and glamour reflect the likes of a headline show, it still feels incredibly personal and intimate.

As we moved further into the show, we are met with some genuine Chit Chat. Holly tells her fans that she ‘went to Liverpool briefly’ and her sister ‘studied up here’. She has clearly spent a lot of time in the city and is without a doubt glad to be back.

‘Overkill’ and ‘London is lonely’ is next up as fans begin to climb on shoulders and do their best to be noticed and in the moment with the singer.

As the end begins, Holly leaves the stage as fans scream and a fan hands her a bunch of roses she has been holding onto tightly for the show. This young star has definitely found her confidence and I can’t wait to see what she has to bring in the New Year.
