HorthWorld ‘Pieces’ – Single Review

Derbyshire band HorthWorld have released a new single ‘Pieces’. It’s quite pop-punk and reminds me of Bowling For Soup in some ways.

The style of the song is catchy. Straight away you are hooked, singing along to the ‘woah’s’ in the song. It has a rock-edge to it with an electric guitar and fast-paced drums. The vocals are perfect for the style of the song. I can tell these guys know how to make a great song by just listening to this one. Pieces is certainly a banger and I’ll tell you why.

It starts with the faintest ‘woah’s’ then goes into more lyrics such as ‘living in a high state of anxiety, for fear of missing out but in reality I had all the pieces’, which tells me this song brings awareness to those living with anxiety and feeling pushed out.

I can’t praise the band enough for creating a track that recognises how hard living with anxiety can be. I think a lot of people will connect with this track for sure.

The instrumental is super tuneful and danceable. I could definitely see this song bringing a live performance together. I don’t think there would be one person stood still whilst this song played. It involves a saxophone as well as other greatly played instruments.

There’s also a clap beat in the background and what kind of sounds like a synth. It’s definitely an original piece of work. This song alone will get you listening to more of HorthWorld!
