TK Maxx Presents Live at The Piece Hall is very much underway now, with thousands of people having already attended the gigs in Halifax.
This time was the turn of previous X-Factor winner James Arthur, who does appear to have left the show days behind him, having really taken his style in stride, even if that meant ruffling a few feathers along the way (I’m looking at you Reytons fans…).
JERUB and Ben Ellis opened the evening for the crowd, warming them up under what felt like the first damp evening in a while (after a muggy heatwave!) – but it was soon time for the main event, with the North East star opening the show with his track “Water” and following on with his winning 2012 X Factor hit “Impossible”, which saw quite a few get a little bit emotional and also gave the opportunity for fans to sing-a-long early.

Arthur did acknowledge the “shit weather” and showed his appreciation for the crowd for still coming out during the literal downpour and that they’d still have a good time, which they really seemed to!
Across the crowd were friends, family, strangers, all arm in arm, hand in hand singing along and just getting lost in the moment which was nice.

Some of the highlights included were Greatest Showman offering “Rewrite The Stars” – which James Arthur famously covered with Anne-Marie a few years back, plus “Impossible” (as already mentioned) and his final song of the evening “Say You Won’t Let Go” – which he released back in 2016 and from the crowds’ reaction – a real fan favourite and a good one to end on.
A brilliant evening despite the weather and another successful evening for TK Maxx Presents Live at The Piece Hall, by Cuffe and Taylor, plenty more to come at Piece Hall until the end of August!
