JOHN BRAMWELL LIVE AT STOLLER HALL

JOHN BRAMWELL LIVE IN MANCHESTER – WHAT HAPPENED?

Manchester’s Stoller Hall was the setting for tonight’s musical extravaganza which saw I Am Kloot’s John Bramwell taking centre stage in this stunning venue, known for showcasing the musical elite. The show sold out weeks ago which is a fitting tribute to this Manchester icon who has gained a dedicated following of his songwriting.

The support this evening came from solo artist and folk singer Harriet Bradshaw. Bradshaw has been described as ‘Teeside’s answer to Kate Bush and Joni Mitchell’. There is a quirky warmth to the way Bradshaw interacts with the audience. Self depreciating humour and genuine joy that people are there to see her set.

Bradshaw has a gorgeous voice that reverberates around the venue and it is clear that she has made an impact on this audience tonight with the rapturous applause that follows her set. I predict that Bradshaw will be headlining  shows of her own soon and more  information can be found here.

John Bramwell was performing this evening with The Full Harmonic Convergence, which is part of a series of launch shows across the country. Walking on stage to a wonderful reception from this local crowd, Bramwell appeared somewhat bemused by the audience members seated on the balcony directly behind him, almost performing ‘in the round’ this evening.

Bramwell has recently released a new album ‘The Light Fantastic’ which has added even more to his back catalogue of which Bramwell revealed this evening was currently at over 400 songs. This evening we were treated to new and old, with a number of Kloot favourites as well as new material. This venue was built for gigs like this, part of the historic Chethams School of Music the sound was as expected, incredible.

The newer material is lighter and created a contrast from his previous work, a delicate balance of love and loss, combined with good humour between tracks. Smiling throughout, Bramwell looked utterly content, as did the audience who certainly got their money’s worth this evening, as Bramwell quipped himself after one song, I could leave now as that was worth thirty quid surely? Not far off sir! Check out below where you can catch John Bramwell on tour.
