“Physical Space” is the second track from Lina and the Lions’ upcoming album Second Nature. Nostalgia would be the keyword when describing this song, the band wears their influences on their sleeve, a synth-pop record drawing from the likes of Kate Bush and Gwen Stefani’s No Doubt to create a distinctly modern take on the classic 80s sound.
Lina’s unique voice drives the track with a ringing hook that will be swirling around your head for hours, match this with the traditional pop instrumentation and you have a pop anthem that Cyndi Lauper would be proud of.
The lyrics of the track leave you dreaming of a better time when we could be in proximity of one another and experience life together, the song urges us to appreciate the time we can spend together.
Intentional or not Lina’s lyrics reflect upon the current times in a positive way – looking towards the light at the end of the tunnel and inferring nothing but optimism.
“Physical Space” would be at home in a packed club, with a crowd of fresh-faced youths with anything but physical space. Based on this single alone, the rest of the album is to be very much looked forward to and promises a bright future for this Sheffield pop outfit.
