Live Review Warmduscher : Manchester, Academy 2

London post-punkers Warmduscher finally made it to the stage of their postponed gig on Wednesday evening, along with a sold out crowd of excitable fans.

Support came from Hebden Bridge natives The Lounge Society who have formed a solid fan base of their own over the last couple of years. The Yorkshire foursome kicked off their set with a banging track ‘Cain’s Heresy’ which set the premise for the rest of their forty minute set. This was the first time I have seen TLS, and it certainly won’t be my last.

Warmduscher arrived on stage clad in white boiler suits and a shit load of attitude, kicking off their set with ‘Big Wilma’. Last to arrive on stage and to rapturous applause was frontman Clams Baker Jr (Craig Louis Higgins Jr) who swaggered and stomped his way through the set which also included the tracks ‘Hotshot’, ‘Fatso’ and ‘Ladyeggs’.

The tight garage rock shone through with a slightly mellower sound than previous years, but still nonetheless heavy and very fucking loud. Their current tour ends in August but the band returns to the city for Manchester’s Psych Fest. Tickets are available now.
