After 18 months of polishing their musical project, alternative-pop duo, Lorish have released their first taste of what is to come in their cover of the hit Oasis single, Wonderwall. The duo have decided to release this cover as they feel that it’s a ‘sneak peek’ to their ever-growing audience, turning the track on its head.
The cover is different from upcoming Lorish tracks, yet with ‘Wonderwall’ the band manages to represent their own musical tastes and influences, putting a unique twist on the classic. With their take of ‘Wonderwall’, Lorish douses it in colour, a vibrant number that they mould to become truly unique.
It’s a big risk to take releasing a cover as a single, yet it feels as if for Lorish it has paid off. Somehow, the Tel Aviv based band have remade the Oasis classic, bringing it back to life with a modern twist whilst retaining its britpop-era feel.
With this cover of ‘Wonderwall’, Lorish has done what they promised to do, they have turned it into a completely new song. The band’s musical path is just now getting started, if this is anything to go by, they are destined to flourish when they release their original tracks.
