Dronfield’s ‘One Valley Festival’ set for another successful year.
Fantastic food and well-brewed beer are on offer at this ever-popular event, as well as a secret garden party.
Dronfield’s favourite festival is set to return this June with a variety of drink, food and music on the agenda.
Previously known as ‘3 Valley Festival’, the event has had to downscale and revamp after growing numbers meant the town’s venues and public services were struggling to cope. The festival, which takes place on June 1, will feature both in and outdoor activities and up to eleven venues.
One of these venues, The Blue Stoops, will be hosting their own ‘Secret Garden Party’ that will run from 12pm until late. Over ten ales and ciders will be on offer this year, as well as a huge selection of gin (including the pink stuff) and a range of other spirits. Festival food is the theme of the day so expect to see burgers and footlong hot dogs, fish and chips, vegetarian paella and even a hog roast.
To add to the festival feel, there will be prizes awarded to the best dressed groups – with an emphasis on fancy dress. One of their busiest yet most enjoyable days, Hannah Beddow, general manager at The Blue Stoops, is looking forward to this year’s event. Hannah said: “The turnout from locals and even those further afield is amazing.
“We’re hoping to take it up a notch this year, in terms of production and experience, so if you’ve enjoyed this festival in previous years then be sure to add this date to your calendar”.
A host of musicians are also set to perform throughout the day, including local band Risky Heroes, who will be headlining this years event after impressing last year.
The Blue Stoops can be found at the top of High Street, Dronfield, S18 1PX. One Valley Festival will run from 12pm til 11pm on Saturday 1 June with most venues being in walkable from Dronfield Train Station.
