“It’s okay to quit if you’ve got something that you’re dreaming of”
Peak Futures return with their third single Broadway, with themes of moving on to bigger and better things.
The London-based group combine sweet and soulful vocals over delicate percussion and warm guitar licks.
The title of the track refers to founder, Chris Hills and his experience of living in New York to then moving back to the UK in 2019. The themes are that of a musician moving away and struggling in a new city whilst tied to their past. The vocals make for an engaging and blissful listen and the words feel genuine and well-experienced.
The vibrant New York music scene is felt all over the track and Broadway paints a peaceful sunset moment at the end of a working week. The balance of ringing guitar notes and filling piano add a cosy backdrop and you can picture yourself walking down Broadway.
Joe Bernie’s vocals are powerful and enchanting and give the track a real feeling of soul. The track itself builds up in a gradual, but inviting fashion, as the instrumental break continues the slick and smooth tempo.
The bridge and closing moments of the track see some beautiful lyircs and vocal harmonies and sum up a song of longing and positivity. A really beautiful piece of work from Peak Futures.
