Nu-metal, alt rock 4 piece Plastic Heart are shifting into harsher territory with their latest single ‘My Sweet Ruin’.
The intro of the track lulls you into techno rave, quickly shattering it with hard rock guitars and a twinkling piano melody- super dynamic track from the get go!
Smooth, swirling vocals chime in, detailing obsessive love; when infatuation becomes so intense it makes you sick. The frontwoman’s poignant vocals are a total highlight.
The track builds in intensity with crashing drums, raw guitar solos, tempo shifts into head-banging territory. Distant whirring electronic sounds add a really cool quality to their eery sound. The band are inspired by the likes of Enter Shikari, which you can really hear in these heavier moments of the track.
This single is their first since the bands reshuffle and it redefines their sound with such a powerful edge- so awesome.
Looking forward for what’s next in store for Plastic Heart!
