GANS – Top Suport
Gans, fun and nice and aggressive music, that’s how I’d sum up the night. From the first beat it was pure energy, the kind that shakes the walls and makes you grin like a maniac. It’s always great to have a front man who dives straight into the audience too, you know you’re in for a wild one when that happens.
POP WILL EAT ITSELF – Welcome to the fandom
This was a room full of super fans. Proper diehards. I’ll be honest, they weren’t really on my radar before, but so many mates told me they were ace and they were not wrong. It’s a full-on combination of fun and funk, all delivered with that cheeky, chaotic confidence that only PWEI can pull off.
The new song Never Mind the Botox got a massive reaction. Love a Sex Pistols pun, don’t you? And spotting a megaphone on stage made me swallow some oily water, or maybe I was just in need of some THERAPY? I think everyone was teliported back to the 90s present company included.
I swear everyone I met was from Wigan and 45+, but in the best possible way. Total good vibes, no pretence, just people there for a proper time.
Any good journalist would have done a bit of research beforehand, but even without it you can feel how much influence these lads have had. I’m not sure which way round it goes, but I reckon I May Be Terrorvision has definitely taken some inspiration from them. PWEI are a band full of body and bounce, pure Gen X brilliance that everyone else is missing out on.
