Portland Rapper Aminè comes to Manchester- What Happened?

Portland experimental rapper Aminè takes Manchester for the first time since 2018- captivating fans with his witty lyricism and uncontrollably groovy dance moves for his ‘Best Tour Ever’.

Releasing his most recent album ‘TwoPointFive’ and shows postponing like most artists due to Covid. His new project welcomes fans from the UK and Europe to experience his sugar sweet new record- quick to have you bopping your head without releasing.

Typically defying genres, Amine combines a mixture of hyper pop, rap and R&B. Originally hitting the charts in 2017 with his oh-so catchy, tongue-in-cheek tune ‘Caroline’ and became the summer 17 anthems of that year.

Fans scream for the young artist as his in-house DJ plays a collection of ‘turn up’ mashups- quick to set the mood for the show to come.
Noticeably- the lighting and backdrop is something I have never at the Ritz before, quick confirming Aminè has brought an incredible team to set up this unique show for his fans. Neon lights and lyrics on screen really create an immersive and out-of-body experience.

The setlist was a mixology both of old and new bangers- known by all who attended.
Songs like ‘Ratchet Saturn Girl’ and ‘Reel it in’ had the whole of the Ritz screaming and dancing along with the enthusiastic singer.

The Rapper was even thrown a teddy during his performance by a fan, giving a big thank you to everyone for making him feel so welcome and that they needed to ‘turn the fuck up.
Finessing the stage with cheeky smirks and provoking dance moves it is clear to see why the venue is as busy as it is.

Finishing with songs like ‘Spice Girl’ and ‘Caroline’- although his most popular songs seem truly authentic and pivotal to the show.
Without a doubt, this is the most high-energy show I have seen in a while, and look forward to hearing the Portland artist’s next big hits.
