New single ‘Falling Back’ from All James only continues to show his shining talent. A storytelling track that really resonates with All James’ audience makes for a strong second release. Adding more pop elements than his previous seasonal single, ‘Best Time Of The Year’, but the song still holding the vibrant arrangments and melodic tone.
All James as a project brings us a seamless blend of orchestral pieces, to alternative pop. Defined by inspired, positive tones, bringing us light to the cold of winter. All James draws inspiration from illustrious artists such as Goo Goo Dolls, Enya, Kodaline, and Coldplay. He is pulling from these influences to inhibit audiences’ minds through this unique auditory experience.
The story of the song is told through the rich compositions and emotive melodies that make for All James’ distinguished sound. Described by James himself “Some songs will be characterized by lush orchestral arrangements paired with contemporary pop elements, creating an engaging fusion that captivates audiences across diverse genres. Other songs will have a 90s nostalgia pop sound or lean more alternative. Music should not be created in a boxed framework, it should be expressed however it makes sense to the artist.”
Heartfelt, tender, and uplifting, ‘Falling Back’ details the pressures of life weighing on someone, feeling lost and in your own world. It is easy for us to succumb to this, and feel confused and stagnant. Similarly, most of us feel this way and we aren’t alone. All James consciously, and evidently to me, is writing with not only clarity about his own emotions, but his audiences’. Pitted against this entangled emotional output, ‘Falling Back’ provides hope that we have strength and someone to catch us when we find ourselves off-kilter.
James’ began the process of writing through a cohesive empathetic approach. “I wrote the song as the person falling back. The song connects with individuals who feel this daily, and can bring some hope to despair at times. The 90’s style gives a nostalgia feel accompanied by beautiful lush strings to elevate the song as it finishes.”
Easily experienced through soaring instrumental scores or heartfelt lyrics, All James is still pushing the boundaries of musical expression. Together, pushing forward and crafting an evolving sound that remains still relatable, transcendent, and timeless.
