Hiya thanks for joining us in the virtual RGM lounge today, grab a brew and take a seat.
What made you decide to become an artist?
Since the day I heard my mother play the piano when I was 5.
So tell me a little bit about you and what you like doing for fun?
My friends and I are into fashion, I place this World in the top 3 of my favourite creative expression forms and hopefully will do something with it in the future.
How do you think the government have looked after the the night time economy / live gig circuit?
I tend to think people try their best in given circumstances. Not an easy situation to deal with so I guess they did how they could! It certainly is devastating for musicians who rely a lot on live performances but in the meantime I have been enjoying virtual performances from home.
Whats one question you’re sick of being asked when interviewed?
Private life related questions.
What good bands are coming out of London at the minute?
Steam Down, Mansur Brown (his solo stuff is incredible) and Kali Claire.
Who is inspiring you at the minute?
Elizeth Cardoso for her musicality.
If your fans could remember one thing about you what would it be?
Feeling my emotions
What useless talent do you have/ party trick ?
Cocktail Queen
What was the most fun you have had on stage?
Playing with one of my best friends at the time just guitar/voice at a show in Camden (Dublin Castle) I had the most fun that day!
What was the worst experience on stage?
Getting scammed by a promoter resulting in not getting payed after the gig (2017).
Tell us something about yourself that you think people would be surprised about?
I trained in boxing and Krav Maga.
Best drink to have on stage?
Wild blueberry juice
Who would you like to duet with?
Gal Costa (Brazilian singer). I have actually had a dream where she was inviting me to live the full Bossa Nova experience in Brazil. Dreaming it felt real just like any experience that happens in our current definition of reality.
What goes into your favourite sandwich?
Pain au chocolat.
What makes you stand out as an artist?
I trained in classical violin because I loved and from an early age, to be able to create such a warm and pure sound. Funny enough the human voice is probably the closest to this instrument. I went from 10 years of studying it to singing, composing and writing lyrics.
Other than that, my imagination.
Right now, whats pissing you of the most? (Cant say the virus 🙂
Inequalities and gender/ethnic based discrimination
What’s your favourite song to play live and why?
‘You go to my head’ (Ella and Joe’s version) cos I can give a side to this story when I sing it and ‘Highways’, every time I sing this I get stadium feels
I hear you have a new single brewing, what can you tell us about it?
My new single is called Levels, I wrote this a couple of years back so this is a chance for me to show what I compose. Produced by Joon Switon who also is the guitarist. The track talks about transforming a negative situation into positive and finding solutions to get out of a difficult emotional state. Surely is a great reminder for me to stay grounded and keep fighting for better.
Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?
I am working on a project that’s due to come out in 2021. Stay tuned for this one I can only say how proud I’ll be to present this to the World.
Thanks for doing us today folks, all the best and keep in touch.
