RGM Introducing – Endless Season

Hi mate, take a seat, how did the project come together?

Hello my name is Anthony and Endless Season is currently a solo project. It really started as I had a bunch of songs that I had written over the years and were not being used but I absolutely so I decided to finally give them a chance and get them recorded and put out.

What is the unsigned scene in the North East like at the minute?

It’s very strong. There are acts in so a variety of genres that I think people should check out. There’s everything from heavy rock bands to chilled out acoustic acts (literally something for everyone).

What good bands are coming out of the North East at the minute?

There’s so many I could mention so I will try my best to narrow it down.

Home truths are an amazing Pop-Punk band and they have dropped some of the catchiest songs I’ve heard, Thieves of Liberty are an awesome Rock band and are a band I would highly recommend you seeing live (when gigs come back). Finally, I would recommend an acoustic artist called Jamie Farrell who has one of the most powerful voices I’ve ever heard!

What’s your favourite song right now from another band?

Right now I’m digging a track called Wide Awake by a band called Hot Milk. It’s constantly on repeat and I just can’t get enough of it.

Who is inspiring you at the min?

I take inspiration from a bunch of genres. I’m really enjoying Don Broco’s latest album, Emarosa’s latest album and I’ve also been listening to a lot of 80s pop.

What was the most fun you have had on stage?

Most fun I’ve had on stage in recent memory is definitely the last gig I was a part of before lockdown happened at a venue called Independent in Sunderland. I don’t know what it was but it was probably the closest to a ‘perfect’ set I’ve ever played.

The crowd were engaged and were up for it. Plus there was no major issues and it was just a fun night overall.

What was the worst experience on stage?

I like to jump around a lot on stage and I’ve had so many injuries over the years. The worst was definitely when I thought it was a good idea to jump off a drum riser and I managed to clear the stage in one jump.

Let’s just say it didn’t end very well!

Tell us something about you think people would be surprised about?

One thing people seem to be surprised about me is the fact that I’m straight edge. For people that don’t know what that means. It basically means I don’t drink alcohol or have any bad substances.

If you could play any music festival which would it be?

100% it would be Slam Dunk Festival. Every single year it’s a lineup of all bands I look up to and every year I’ve attended it’s been an unbelievable atmosphere and just a fun day overall!

Best gig you’ve been to that you weren’t playing?

That’s a tough question because there are so many that I could mention! One that stands out is the comeback tour Busted did. They’re one of the big reasons I got into music and I never got to see them before they split as I was too young. Just seeing them live was a surreal experience for me.

What goes into your favourite sandwich?

I get people telling me that this sounds disgusting but honestly, it’s my favourite thing! So I put in peanut butter and chocolate spread together in a sandwich. I’ve had it since I was young and it’s an absolute game changer!

What advise would you give your younger self?

Don’t be afraid to do what makes you happy and enjoy it! It’s definitely something that I’ve learned over the years but it took a while for me to learn.

Whats your biggest achievement as an artist?

Releasing the debut single for sure. The first single has done incredibly well and surpassed my expectations majorly.

Considering the current situation and everything that is happening I was a bit nervous but in the short period of time it has been out it’s been my most successful release out of anything and any band I’ve been a part of. Definitely a proud achievement for me.

What makes you stand out as an artist?

I think the fact that I played everything on the debut single myself and arranged the full song. A lot of projects/bands with full band instrumentation get people in or have an outside influence. The only thing that someone else did is the mixing/mastering on this single.

Right now, whats pissing you off the most? (Cant say the virus 🙂

Right. So the thing that’s pissing me off the most right now is people who are stuck in their own opinion when presented with facts. I’ve seen so many people sharing things on social media that they don’t know much about and when someone corrects them with actual facts they still won’t accept they were wrong. Maybe a bit petty but still it bugs me!

Tell us about a time when you had a proper reyt laugh?

I think one of the things I still laugh at to this day is when I had finished recording vocals I was trying to take the microphone off the stand. Then I ended up pulling the mic too hard so it came flying towards my face/mouth and I chipped my tooth. Initially it hurt but thinking back it’s funny as it shows how accident prone I actually am.

Plus I still have people laughing at me when I tell them about that!

I hear you have a new single brewing, what can you tell us about it?

So I just dropped the single Sit Down and it’s a fun Pop-Punk song. It’s a song I’ve had written for a while and I just needed to get it out there.

It’s a song all about wanting to change something but feeling trapped where you are. I recorded everything you hear on the song myself and sent it off to a producer to get a professional production quality. Definitely a proud achievement for me personally.

Whats coming up in 2020?

There’s a lot of music being worked on at the minute and a lot of exciting changes/developments with Endless Season happening so there will be a lot of new music coming along with a load of fun content.

Then hopefully if gigging comes back there will be plenty of gigs in place to support the releases that are coming up.

Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?

Just want to say thank you to anyone who’s checked out Sit Down and shown support for this project. There is a lot going on behind the scenes that I cannot wait to share with you so stay tuned!
