What was life like for you before you got into music?
Matt – It was life as a child, as I got into music at a very early age. I started learning the guitar when I was 8 after listening to ‘Family Favourites’ on Saturday mornings.
Annabelle – Doesn’t remember a time when she wasn’t involved in music. She would make up songs from the age of 4 & sing them to her family. She was the lead in the school choir at age 7 and learnt various wind instruments along the way
What’s the live music scene like in Horley & Southwest London right now? Anyone we should be looking out for (bar you, of course)?
Matt ( Horley ) It’s mostly Pub cover bands, playing to the wrinklies, keeping them up later than they should be !
Annabelle – There’s a rich diverse range of music styles for all ages
It seems like being a social media curator has become added to the many jobs of a musician, how do you feel about this?
Matt Finding it quite difficult really. Recording & Producing music is very time consuming, which we love doing, but then having to spend time getting your head round how Meta wants you to promote things is really boring & takes time away from being creative.
Annabelle – It feels like a full time job & tends to eat into our creative time, but we’re getting to grips with it !
How do you manage engagement on your socials?
We try to be real and ourselves. We appreciate mot everyone will engage, they’re remain as bystanders. We’re trying to learn as we go along on the socials side
What’s your view on the Music industry today?
Matt – It’s a double edged sword. It’s good that now anyone can promote themselves and have an equal chance of recognition without the weight of a record company behind them, but the downside of that is that the ones who are best at promotion, marketing & who are just able to shout the loudest might become the ones who get somewhere, so it’s less to do with actual talent or likeability & more to do with social media skills
Annabelle – it seems it’s not always about hard work & talent, it’s who hears & likes you and is in the right position to help you get a foot up
Where do you feel you currently sit within the music industry?
Right out on the edges. We’re just trying to make music that comes from the heart & get some recognition for that
Whats the biggest thing you have learned recently as you progress with your music?
That very often people on social media are more interested in your promotional picture than clicking the link to actually hear the song !
What was your best experience on stage?
Matt – Having people cheer for the encore
Annabelle – Feeling Happy with my performance
What was your worst experience on stage?
Matt – Knocking my keyboard stand over sending the keyboard flying whilst changing to guitar between songs !
Annabelle – just wanting to go home !!

Annabelle is a Spiritual Healer & has qualified as a Sound Healer

I hear you have new music. What can you tell us about it?
It’s based on the journey through life that we all encounter.Initially about a friend of Annabelle’s & how she was dealing with her life choices, but also relates to everyone’s journey through life & how to navigate it in good spirits whilst trying to have a good time in the meantime no matter what it throws at us. And through that learning that it’s not what you have, but the people you share it with that makes life good.
What was the recording process like?
Always great. Matt gathers the pieces between Jeb & Annabelle & then spends many pleasurable hours piecing it all together – & Keeping Jeb & Annabelle on task !!
What was the biggest learning curve in writing the new tunes?
Not always having enough time to get things to where we’d ultimately like them to be. Life so often gets in the way
Would you change anything now it’s finished?
There’s always room for improvement but Matt’s pretty good at getting things finished so that we can move on to the next ideas which keep on coming !
