CARL KAMMEYER

RGM INTRODUCING – WE INTERVIEW AMERICAN ARTIST CARL KAMMEYER

Hi Carl, thanks for joining us today. What made you decide that music is a thing for you?

My mother, I was so inspired by her growing up that I wanted to follow in her footsteps. She helped kickstart my musical journey at a young age by buying me a keyboard and teaching me to play by ear.

Introduce us to you and your musical history.

Hi, I am Carl Kammeyer, and I am an indie pop and soul singer/songwriter from California. I grew up singing in church, playing instruments, and writing songs.

What was life like for you before music?

Life was normal, it was all about playing during my young years.

What was the first song you heard that steered you into a music path?

All of the church hymn songs like amazing grace steered me into my musical path.

Where do you feel you currently sit within the music industry?

I don’t know where I sit within the music industry, but I am nowhere near the top of the list.

What’s the biggest thing you have learned from someone else in the industry?

The biggest thing I’ve learned about is music production and how to write better songs.

Tell us Two truths and a lie about you.

I can play a keyboard in any key by ear.

I live in the state of California.

I’ve run a 5k marathon.

If you could wish for one thing to aid your career, what would it be?

I would wish all my fans would support my music.

Do you ever worry about people taking things the wrong way or cancel culture? Discuss….

Yes, all the time, that is why I wrote this song One because I noticed people are getting to the point where they can’t sit and talk to each other about things that they disagree on, then it results in violence, that is just crazy.

Do you sign up to any conspiracy theories? If not, why not?

No, I just don’t believe any of it.

What was the worst experience on stage?

I have never had a worse experience on stage and hope too never will.

Tell us something about you that you think people would be surprised about.

I am a tractor-trailer truck driver.

What makes you stand out as an artist?

I believe my style, sound, and message stand out in my music.

I hear you have a new music, what can you tell us about it.

Ossico and I collaborated on the song “One” together, he had already written the music and I wrote all the lyrics and performed it.

What was the recording process like?

You just have to be prepared to set to record, and you want to perform your very best for the recording.

What was the biggest learning curve in writing the new tunes?

I am learning how to put my thoughts into words that people can understand and relate to.

Would you change anything now it’s finished?

No, If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn’t change one thing. I am totally happy with how it all turned out.

Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?

I just want to say thanks for sharing my music, fill free to give me a shout on socials, follow me, and show me some love.
