What made you decide that music is a thing for you?
As far as I can remember, I’ve always loved music. My parents say music was the only thing that could make me stop crying as a baby. I don’t remember a specific turning point in my life where my passion for music emerged. But the pandemic was when I started to have the time to pursue music.
Introduce us to you and your musical history?
My name is Carson Ferris, and I am a 13 year-old singer-songwriter from provo, UT. My first musical adventure was when I started taking guitar lessons at age 6. My guitar teacher got me some of my first live performances, and things started going from there. I had the time to start pursuing music as a career during the pandemic, and i have released a few songs on streaming platforms.

My 3 favorite albums are oneRepublic’s native, Journey’s greatest hits, and ed sheerans subtract.
What was the first song you heard that steered you into a music path?

The music industry is the hardest industry in the world to progress in. How do you feel you are doing?
I feel like I’m doing pretty good. It can be pretty demanding though.
I’m seeing a lot of debate about women not feeling safe at music gigs, any thoughts on what we need to do to help?
I haven’t heard a lot about that, but I think everyone should be able to feel safe at any gig.
As you develop as an artist and develop using socials, what ways do you get new ears on your music? Any tips?
Be consistent. That is the most important social media advice I can give.
Tell us Two truths and a lie about you?
I play 4 instruments, my favorite color is blue, and I am allergic to nuts.
What was the worst experience on stage?
My worst experience on stage ws when I fell off the riser during a choir concert.
Tell us something about that you think people would be surprised about?
My least favorite subject in school is language arts.
What makes you stand out as an artist?
I am a kid, and I also have music with a unique style.
I hear you have new music, what can you tell us about it?
This song is called Crazy, and it has more crunchy vibe than some of my other songs
Talk me through the thought process of the new tune.
I wrote it when I got challenged to write a love song. I didn’t really know how to write a love song, so I wrote it about how I felt about my music, and what it’s like to be doing music as a kid.
