ANTON SUSHEV

RGM INTRODUCING – WE INTERVIEW ANTON SUSHEV WHAT HAPPENED?

What made you decide that music is a thing for you?

  • Music has been my calling since a young age. It has deeply influenced my life and holds great meaning for me.I’ve always had a natural inclination for music. I was captivated by a beat on the drums, sparking my interest in rhythms and music. This led me to explore jazz and create my own beats. I can recall beating pencils on my desk in grade school

Introduce us to you all and your musical history.

  • My earliest desire to learn the saxophone was inspired by American president Bill Clinton, believe it or not! At the age of five, I saw him serenade on a late night show and it stuck with me ever since. My mother told me I pointed to the television and from that moment she followed destiny and threw me into lessons.  Recently, I had the honor of performing for the former president, marking a significant full-circle moment.

What’s the live music scene like in LA right now? Anyone we should be looking out for (Bar you of course)

  • If you’re in the Los Angeles area, you definitely should check this bar called “Gold Diggers” out. There is amazing hanging and live music every Monday.

I’ve seen a lot of people struggling for support recently online. Whats your view on the industry?

  • I am grateful for the support I receive both online and in real life.

Where do you feel you currently sit within the music industry?

  • I am continuously seeking new ideas, exploring different genres, and learning from remarkable peers.

What was your best experience on stage?

  • Oh man, there was so many of them…My stage experiences have been overwhelmingly positive, and any setbacks have only fueled my determination.

I hear you have a new music, what can you tell us about it.

  • Yeah! I just recorded a live album with my friends and amazing musicians. It’s available on all streaming platforms

What was the recording process like?

  • Is always different. I surround myself with passionate artists and we each have our own creative process. It is too unique to describe any one session.

What was the biggest learning curve in writing the new tunes?

  • I embrace the learning curve and thrive on improvisation. Exposing myself to different musicians, cultures and/or melodies has expanded my sonic potential.

Would you change anything now it’s finished?

  • I wouldn’t change any finished works but I will always try to keep an increasing trajectory with each project.
