Hiya Dale, thanks for joining us in the virtual RGM lounge today. Grab a brew and take a seat.
What made you decide that music is a thing for you?
I have always been a huge fan of music and followed the pop music landscape closely. I felt I had a lot to say and felt it was as good a time as any.
Introduce us to you all and your musical history.
Well, I am from a town in Georgia, just outside of Atlanta and I am obsessed with Europe and the European music scene. From a young age I became obsessed with a band called S Club, from there it branched off into other artists like Girls Aloud, Sugababes, The Saturdays and music like this isn’t as prominent as it used to be, which saddens me to my core, so I decided to recreate it.
I’ve seen a lot of people struggling for support recently online. What’s your view on the industry?
The industry is changing drastically in-front of our eyes, a lot of people are finding success online and are bypassing the major labels. It’s exciting to see people coming up independently.
Where do you feel you currently sit within the music industry?
Presently, I am an international nobody, but everyone has to start somewhere!
Tell us two truths and a lie about you.
- My first spoken language was German
- The first album I purchased with Leanne Rimes “Blue”
- I was married to a woman for 10 years
Tell us something about you that you think people would be surprised about.
I have actually maintained a fan page for Rachel Stevens for 20+ years, it’s RachelStevens.com if anyone is interested — I also have SClub.org and its been a very exciting side venture.
What are the next steps you plan to take to reach the next level?
I have a string of singles planned throughout the remainder of the year and this will lead into my project, which I am very excited about. Every experience I have, whether it be silly Facebook comment exchanges, or immense heartbreak…. I would like to do some shows and get on stage and feel the crowd… I’ve heard it’s electric.
I hear you have new music. What can you tell us about it?
I do!!!I’ve got a new project coming out early next year, with songs out every two months until the big launch. The project tells my story of creating chaos and dealing with the aftermath.
What was the recording process like?
My collaborators are absolutely phenomenal collaborators, my good friend Stephen Lind (who has been previously featured on your website) and MAGNA Productions they are the heart and soul of who Dale Frost is, without them I’m not sure I’d have the confidence to continue but they say it takes a village and I am honored to work alongside them.
What was the biggest learning curve in writing the new tunes?
A lot is my collaborations with Stephen start with something I’m feeling and he just makes it massively better, so it has been working more closely with that has taught me that collaboration is an important aspect to overcome, but he and I literally hopped on a call the other day to sort out a chorus… and it took like fifteen minutes. It’s about learning when to ask for help.
Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?
“Not everything deserves a reaction” – Dale’s therapist
I feel this is an amazing piece of advice that I feel needs to be shared to the world!
