RGM INTRODUCING – WE INTERVIEW ESTRADA

Hiya Alejandro, thanks for joining us in the virtual RGM lounge today. Grab a brew and take a seat.

Thanks for joining us today… Tell us a bit about where you are from and how you got into music?

I am from South America (Venezuela) but I moved to Glasgow (Scotland) some years ago. I started into music when I was very young and played in a band formed with my high school friends when I was 14yo. The band was called “Billy Se Fue” remaining together for over almost 15 years

What’s the live music scene like in Glasgow right now? Anyone we should be looking out for?

Glasgow is the city of music. There are many places but with no doubt one of my favorites is King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut. You will always find something good there

Do you think it’s easy to become a victim of our surroundings sometimes?

Very deep question I guess, but I do no how to answer that

What are your ambitions for your project?

Share the message of love with everyone. As simple as that

What’s your favourite social media platform to use and why?

Intagram and X (previous Twitter). The first one to know about my friends and things I like and the second one to know what crazy things are happening in the world

We believe it’s essential to have a presence on Facebook, Instagram and X to introduce yourself to all the different types of audiences out there, what’s your thoughts on that?

I agree 100%. Times have changed and they are tools to reach audiences these days.

What’s your view on the Music industry today?

People are interested in making money. I understand this is normal but many have lost the passion and love for the music and it’s very sad.

What’s your thoughts on AI generated music?

I think everything has a place. There are very smart guys passionate about music with zero skills playing instruments for which I think AI can help them to reach their goals.

What’s the biggest thing you have learned recently as you progress with your music?

I am an old school musician quite attached to vocals, strings and drums. When I entered in the synthesizer world my view was expanded in a crazy way

What’s currently in your ears and on rotation at the moment?

Sleaford mods. Crazy guys with plenty of passion

What was your worst experience on stage? Any funny stories to share?

I cannot bring any terrible experience, but I remember playing in a music fest in Venezuela to stop in the middle of a song and get out of stage to attend someone in the public that collapsed (I am a medical doctor as well) That was very weird

Got any fun, funny stories from life on the road?

I got many. For example, those times my wife helped me remove my make-up after a gig at 6am on my way to work in the hospital before starting my shift.

I hear you have new music. What can you tell us about it?

I am close to releasing an EP in Spanish very soon which is quite passionate and rock&rollish, but also I am working on my second album with more electronic components. The first single in Spanish is called “Verso Melodico” and my son is a special guest on the guitar. I hope people enjoy it

What was the recording process like?

I found an isolated house in Ireland where I did the whole recording. No noise, no people and no distractions for a week. One of the best experience in my life

Would you change anything now it’s finished?

Nothing at all!

Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?

Love is the way to get everything in this life. Whatever you do, do it with love..
