What made you decide that music was something for you?
By listening to a lot of artists, I realized that my thing is writing and composing songs. Creation and arrangement are a real passion for me.
Tell us about you/all the members and your musical history.
I work solo in my home studio. I am a songwriter and producer. I create 100% of my songs myself except recording vocals (I’m not a singer) and mixing and mastering.
What was your life like before music?
I was a civil servant, managing renovation and maintenance projects in public schools and leisure centres. But I’ve always played music as a hobby.
What was the first song you heard that turned you toward music?
None in particular. Many artists have inspired me.
Where are you currently in the music industry?
Independent artist or rather independent songwriter and producer.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from someone else in the industry?
Music is completely subjective. For the same song, you can have one review that is 100% good and another that is 100% bad. You have to trust yourself and trust the public. You can’t please everyone! Do not get discouraged!
Tell us Two truths and a lie about you.
Sometimes the truth is surprising: I am 61 years old! my photos are an avatar of me, younger and more beautiful :)!
As for the lie: soon I will be rich 🙂 !!!
If you could wish for one thing to help your career, what would it be?
Any opportunity that might present itself!
Have you ever feared that people will take things the wrong way or cancel culture? Discuss….
Regarding my music, no because I think everyone should be able to recognize themselves in music. What I try to do in my songs. In general, it’s like in life. Yes, it is possible that culture provokes a very strong reaction, but is that not its primary objective?
Do you agree with conspiracy theories? If not, why not?
I am very suspicious of these theories. The important is to know how to make the difference between true and fake. Not so easy, of course!
What was the worst experience on stage?
I don’t make a scene. I am a songwriter and producer but not a singer or dancer. Each his trade!
Tell us about yourself or each member that you think might surprise people.
I work alone at home in my home studio regarding creation and production. I work note by note. I don’t use any loop samples.
What sets you apart as a band/artist?
I am a songwriter and producer and Dr Dawsound should be considered a brand to promote my work rather than an artist.
The chosen style is Vintage Pop Dance but I can compose in almost any style! I have already done pop, dance, rock, folk, funk, disco, jazz swing, blues, bossa, samba, R&B, House, bands original music, and electro.
I heard you have new music, what can you tell us about it.
The next track Stellar Pulse is inspired by Starboy by The Weeknd. Then there will be a pop dance track called Electric Heartbeat inspired by Physical by Dua Lipa. Then a tropical Latino pop track inspired by Rosalia and Shakira “Amor de Verano (Summer Love)”. Finally, the album will bring together all the singles already released.
How was the recording process?
Creation, arrangement and recording of music in my home studio including the vocal guide of the main melody (topline)
Then collaborate with the vocal performers on Soundbetter. They do the vocals based on the existing topline and add and record all the backvocals, dubs, adlibs etc… finally collaboration on Soundbetter with Daniela Rivera, multi-awarded sound engineer who has mixed as an assistant Rihanna, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Wiz Khalifa, Rita Ora…then mastering.
What was the biggest learning curve when writing the new songs?
For the first time, I used for the new 3 tracks the assistance of AI for the creation of the lyrics.(50/50).
Would you change anything now that it’s over?
Doubt is always present and I tell myself that I can always do better but I must stop one day!
Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?
Emotions like happiness, joy, peace, and love listening to my music. Even for only 3 minutes !
