RGM INTRODUCING – WE INTERVIEW ITALIAN ARTIST Enrico Costa
What made you decide to become a soloist?
I’ve always loved music, my father was a singer and he passed his passion for music since when I was young and I needed the importance to communicate to the world my passion, my feelings throughout the music.
Introduce us you and your musical history?
I’m Enrico Costa, from Caserta, a city in the Southern Italy . At very young age I felt in love with music, following my father Maurizio, a finalist in Castrocaro in 1984, who had several important collaborations including that one with Alex Baroni. I met my Music Teachers Bruno Illiano, one of the best keyboardists and arrangers on the music scene, he achieved many awards at national song festivals with his covers. The own song “Cercando Amore “ , was the most voted for the Mia Martini award in 2013, managing to climb the rankings of Dutch radios. Each cover created received a positive feedback on social media such as Youtube , Facebook, Instagram where the covers were really appreciated by the original authors and original performers . On October 1st, I released my last single: “L’amore che resta “ that had 100,000 streams in a very short time.
What’s one question you’re sick of being asked when interviewed?
The ones that are too personal, I’m so shy about my private life.
Do you sign up to any conspiracy theories?
No, but there are many things that still need to be properly explained.
What useless party trick do you have?
No, I haven’t
What was the most fun you have had on stage?
I found very funny the moments with some dancers to put the choreographies on stage.
What was the worst experience on stage?
During a singing contest, there was, unfortunately, some cheating and the jury members announced it later. So I didn’t find it so much fair.
Tell us something about you that you think people would be surprised about?
If you know me well you have to say, that when I wake up, I need a lot of time before speaking to someone.
If you had to describe your music to an alien how would you describe it?
I could define my music as something that arrives to the people’s soul . But do aliens have souls? Maybe yes .
What makes you stand out as an Artist?
I’m always myself, when I sing I would arrive to my fans simply being the same person they should meet everywhere, in the street or on the stage.
Right now, what’s pissing you off the most? (Can’t say the virus )
Our reaction to everything that is happening. It seems to me that the human people are becoming to get worse. There is always a finger pointing to each other, there isn’t so much love, little, and respect for others.
What is your favourite song to play live and why?
My new song is “ L’amore che resta “. It is a song that well represents me at the moment!
I heard about your new single, what can you tell us about it?
The song was born in a particular historical period, post-pandemic, where it seems that humanity has lost some really important values. The perfect love should be one that gives everything and asks for nothing in return, however, if your love is conditioned by the actions of others, it is not a sincere feeling. In a historical period like this we need real and concrete love more than ever. L’amore che resta , in less than a month has reached over 100k of plays on Spotify, garnering numerous acclaim from music critics and the public. The song is also signed by Iozzi G., Papazzoni A., Secci A.
What was the recording process like?
It was a collaboration between people who live far away. The piece was made in Florence while the recording and the arrangement were finalized in Naples, by, Bruno Illiano.
What was the biggest learning curve in writing the single?
I think that the secret is write what you live in your daily life, writing about you, your passions , your emotions. It helps you a lot to make everything more true.
Would you change anything now it’s finished?
No, I like it so much, I hope you too
What are your plans for the year ahead?
I will continue to study music!! Never stop learning !!! In 2022, I want to continue to do music trying to write new songs and comunicate all my emotions to my fans. When I play and sing Music I am the first to be so excited and get excited!!! As Confucio said “
“Choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life” Music is this for me.
Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?
Follow me and discover everything about me on social media, I will be delighted to make your friendship even if at the moment should be only virtual. Thank you so much for taking your time for reading my interview, thanks to God and to “ the Music! “
