Hi Connor thanks for joining us in the virtual RGM lounge today, grab a brew and take a seat.

What made you decide that music is a thing for you?

I suppose performing is something I’ve always done throughout my life. I started writing songs again in lockdown after years of doing other things as an outlet. I find without a creative output I can get a little restless and in my own head.

Introduce us to you and your musical history.

Hey, I’m Connor I’m a singer-songwriter from Leeds, UK. I’ve been writing and recording original music since 2021 but have performed professionally since 2016 working abroad and on cruise ships.

What was life like for you before music?

I went to drama school aged 18 so it’s kind of just been music since then.

What was the first song you heard that steered you into a music path?

I was three years old when I first started headbanging to Bohemian Rhapsody in the back of my dad’s car! I’ve been lucky to always be surrounded by good music

Where do you feel you currently sit within the music industry?

I think my sound is a niche blend of two fairly popular styles indie and pop punk and hopefully, with the resurgence of bands like blink and green day my sound is going to become more commercial

What’s the biggest thing you have learned from someone else in the industry?

Keep going and believe in what you can bring!

Tell us Two truths and a lie about you.

I’m learning Spanish

I was in a plane crash

I support Man United (lie)

If you could wish for one thing to aid your career what would it be?

Landing a big radio play or festival to be able to open the door to new fans, it’s all about visibility for me really

Do you ever worry about people taking things the wrong way or cancel culture? Discuss….

Yeah I think it’s potentially a sticky situation but if you are careful enough and take time to think about what you say and do you should be fine

Do you sign up to any conspiracy theories? If not why not?

A few have made me stop and wonder for sure…is it really Avril Lavigne got me stuck in a rabbit hole

What was the worst experience on stage?

Technically things can go spectacularly wrong have had microphones die mid-gig before which can be problematic

Tell us something about you that you think people would be surprised about.

So a family member on my grandfather’s side was the guitarist for Herman’s Hermits and played on the song “I’m into something good

What makes you stand out as an artist?

I think the mix of nostalgic styles and influences with modern twists.

I hear you have a new music, what can you tell us about it.

‘Is Anyone There’ out 30/11/23 is the first single from my debut e.p that will come out next year! It’s a song about being at a crossroads and feeling as if you going through life alone, which I think we can all relate to.

What was the recording process like?

So I wrote the demo and then sent to my producer Jack Murphy who then sorted it all out

I then travelled over to his studio Crystal Sounds in Forking where we finished the song and recorded all the vocals

What was the biggest learning curve in writing the new tunes?

I’ve recently started writing more from personal experience and I think that has given the songs a much more relatable feel

Would you change anything now it’s finished?

No, i would genuinely listen to it if it was on the radio

Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?

Just positive vibes, heavy guitar riffs and banging tunes 🤟🏻
