RGM INTRODUCING – WE INTERVIEW LESS

What was life like for you before you got into music?

I barely remember those days. I was around 13, moving around Italy with my parents

What’s the live music scene like in Florence right now? Anyone we should be looking out for (bar you, of course)?

Right now, it’s pretty bleak, to be honest. It’s really hard to find venues that host original music, especially anything close to what I do.

It seems like being a social media curator has become added to the many jobs of a musician, how do you feel about this?

I think nowadays it’s just part of the job, part of both promotion and even the creative process. You’ve got to reach your audience in every possible way, even if it takes up a lot of time.

How do you manage engagement on your socials?

Even though you still need some professional help to really understand how social media works, I think it’s mostly about trial and error, staying consistent and keeping your project authentic.

What’s your view on the Music industry today?

Good question! I think globalization has made it easier to connect with people, but at the same time it’s made breaking into the music industry way more complicated.

Where do you feel you currently sit within the music industry?

I’ll let you know once I’m actually inside the music industry, hopefully soon! Do you have any tips?

Whats the biggest thing you have learned recently as you progress with your music?

I’ve learned never to forget why I’m doing it, because of how it makes me feel, because those universal emotions really do reach everyone, and because there’s always something new to learn.

What was your best experience on stage?

Playing with my band at Teatro Instabile in Florence (it’s kind of a circus tent) was definitely unforgettable. It was the first time I played my whole album live, and getting that instant feedback from the audience felt amazing.

What was your worst experience on stage?

Probably some pub gigs around Florence, too loud, too distracting. It kind of kills the vibe.

Tell us something about you / each member that you think people would be surprised about.

When I first started writing songs, I wrote in Italian. But since I didn’t have much privacy and my parents would read everything I left lying around, I switched to English so they couldn’t understand the lyrics. The funny thing is …they still don’t!

I hear you have new music. What can you tell us about it?

It’s very different from my early stuff, and I feel like this new phase represents me much better.

What was the recording process like?

It’s always such a great time, honestly one of my favorite parts of making music.

What was the biggest learning curve in writing the new tunes?

Good question! I decided to move away from love songs and focus on other themes. You’ll definitely hear that in the new releases!

Would you change anything now it’s finished?

Of course, it’d be weird if I didn’t! I’d probably redo at least the first five tracks, but that’s part of the game.

Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?

I’d love to share a lot more, I just need the right opportunities to do it. In the meantime, I’ve already shared so much through my songs. I hope they touch you the same way they touched me when I wrote them.
