RGM INTRODUCING – WE INTERVIEW LONDON ARTIST MICHY TREE

Hiya folks thanks for joining us in the virtual RGM lounge today, grab a brew and take a seat.

What made you decide that music is a thing for you?

It’s the only thing on this earth that I’m passionate about. My whole life revolves around music whether is making it, listening to it, or watching it.

Introduce us to you and your musical history.

Ello I’m Michy Tree! I could be your new favourite rainbow emo or your new favourite artist to hate

What was life like for you before music?

I actually don’t know what life was before music, it’s always been a huge part of my life. But I can imagine it would be pretty dull

Where do you feel you currently sit within the music industry?

Currently, I’m just an independent artist having fun

What’s the biggest thing you have learned from someone else in the industry?

If you can’t control it don’t worry about it. Things will go “wrong” but that’s life. And the things that do go wrong are learning curves.

Tell us Two truths and a lie about you.

I can’t swim, I can’t drive, I can’t ride a bike

If you could wish for one thing to aid your career what would it be?

I think the easiest answer for this would be going viral on TIKTOK but I think I’d prefer the festival route.

Do you ever worry about people taking things the wrong way or cancel culture? Discuss….

I feel like It’s inevitable to get canceled no matter what in today’s society so I don’t really bother worrying about it

Do you sign up to any conspiracy theories? If not why not?

I do love conspiracy theories, whether I believe them or not they’re pretty fun! One of my favourites though would be anything to do with the Bermuda Triangle

What was the worst experience on stage?

All our inears stopped working and we had to just wing it and then the feedback was just deafening but the crowd kept the show fun

Tell us something about you that you think people would be surprised about.

My hair is fake

What makes you stand out as an artist?

Not making the same song twice, I want each song to be completely different than the last

I hear you have a new music, what can you tell us about it.

DIRTY STOP OUT is The anthem for the misfits who want to have fun and be themselves without any judgment. If anything the dirty looks and whispering encourages the behaviour of those carefree individuals.

What was the recording process like?

Sooo much fun! Recorded in Brighton with George Donoughue from the band Wrex and it’s just such a comfortable and encouraging environment to be in!

What was the biggest learning curve in writing the new tunes?

Evolution is important and don’t be scared to push the song even further to get the point across

Would you change anything now it’s finished?

Absolutely not

Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?

Stream Dirty Stop Out and come to my next London show on the 26th of October
