LOST LOT

RGM INTRODUCING – WE INTERVIEW LOST LOT

What was life like for you before you got into music?

To be honest, I don’t remember! I have been into music all my life. Some of my earliest memories involved me recording my own songs with a tape recorder.

What’s the live music scene like in Newcastle right now? Anyone we should be looking out for (bar you, of course)?

The scene in Newcastle is great, there are loads of good bands. We particularly love Hels Pattison and her band, they are STUNNING

It seems like being a social media curator has become added to the many jobs of a musician, how do you feel about this?

We aren’t great at it to be honest, it feels like we have to be so much more than good music.

How do you manage engagement on your socials?

We just try and engage with anyone that wants to engage with us.

What’s your view on the Music industry today?

I think it is in a better place than it was a few years ago. There are some seriously talented people at the top right now and they are there on merit.

Where do you feel you currently sit within the music industry?

Hidden in the depths! We have our core group of supporters who we love but we want to reach more!

Whats the biggest thing you have learned recently as you progress with your music?

Music is worth much more when it is authentic.

What was your best experience on stage?

Our best experience was probably when we recently played a festival for Jumpin Hot Club and we got a 2 song encore. What a treat!

What was your worst experience on stage?

Probably when someone collapsed in front of us. It was a hot room and they just overheated.

Thankfully everyone was okay.

Tell us something about each member that you think people would be surprised about.

Matt, our singer, once had an album hit no.1 on the Amazon folk charts

Scott, our bassist, was a long time drum and bass tech with The Darkness

Jamie, our guitarist, has a PHd in Jazz

Ben, our drummer, toured with The Maccabees when he was 16

Scott, our keys player, is a youth theatre practitioner by day

I hear you have new music. What can you tell us about it?

We do! Our new single is called Waiting. It is ghost story full of hope, love and nostalgia

What was the recording process like?

We loved recording this one, we recorded everything live then overdubbed any additional bits and pieces.

What was the biggest learning curve in writing the new tunes?

This one popped into my head when I was in M&S, so I would say that the best things can come to life in the strangest of places.

Would you change anything now it’s finished?

No! We love this one and we are really proud with it.

Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?

We have new music coming out throughout 2025 and into 2026 so keep an eye on our socials, @lostlotband
