Hiya Sabrina, thanks for joining us in the virtual RGM lounge today. Grab a brew and take a seat.
Thanks for joining us today… Tell us bit about where you are from and how you got into music?
I am from Hamburg, Germany. Music was always around in our home where I grew up. My mom is a passionate singer and my dad is composing and playing the bass guitar. They both started early to take me with them attending pop and jazz concerts. So I could hardly avoid getting into music.
What’s the live music scene like in Hamburg right now? Anyone we should be looking out for (bar you, of course)?
Hamburg is a very active music scene and there are lots young talents around. I am actually not too deep into this scene as I am still attending school and as a minor cannot be on or near stage in most bars.
Do you think its easy to become a victim of our surrounds sometimes?
Well, certainly it is. So from time to time it is good to have a clear mind and figure out, what’s going well and what’s not going so well. I am still searching my style of making music. But I think this is okay as I just have started.
What are your ambitions regarding making music?
I want to make music that touches people’s heart, music that move them. Lyrics are very important to me. My aim is to become a good songwriter and a good singer. Also I want to learn playing the piano much better than I actually do now.
Whats your favourite social media platform to use and why?
I mostly use Instagram because most of my friends are using it. But I prefer being in contact with my friends in real.
We believe its essential to have a presence on Facebook, Instagram and X to introduce yourself to all the different types of audiences out there, what’s your thoughts on that?
You are probably right for the time being. But things are changing permanently. New platforms arise whilst other become meaningless. I consider myself still as an amateur musician and therefore I am not so much dependent on marketing my music on these platforms.
What’s your view on the Music industry today?
It is hard for an independet artist to get heard. The big shots are getting promoted by their labels with huge budgets. Many new hits sound to me like they were made only to generate money. They are lacking authenticiy and originality. On the other hand there is plenty of excellent new music around that is almost unheard because the artists don‘t get promoted. This is kind of unfair.
Whats your thoughts on AI generated music?
Why should one make music this way and why should one want to listen to it? It is lifeless computer music lacking basically everything that I think is making music so important for us.
Whats the biggest thing you have learned recently as you progress with your music?
I learned that it is very fruitful to work with other musicians and listen to what they contribute. I enjoyed the collaboration with my dad, my producer and the instrumentlalists on my recordings and I am convinced that my music improved a lot through our team effort.
I hear you have new music. What can you tell us about it?
Yeah, it is my third song called „I Can’t Love You ». It is a light and easy song but the subject of the lyrics is real and serious. The song is about toxic people who spread hate in the internet and how to deal with those. When we started working on the song we did not expect that this subject is so upto date.
What was the recording process like?
It was great fun. Together with my dad we made a demo recording in our home studio. This is a very intense and iterative process where you learn a lot about yourself. Then we went to my producer’s studio where I got a lot of coaching on my vocals. It was lots of work, too.
Would you change anything now it’s finished?
Not fort he time being. I am very happy with the outcome of our efforts and I am looking forward to our next production.
Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?
Be happy and enjoy your days !
