Hiya Sutlej thanks for joining us in the virtual RGM lounge today. Grab a brew and take a seat
.
Thanks for joining us today… Tell us bit about where you are from and how you got into music?
We’re From London, and we each got into music in our own ways but I (Lewis, singer and guitarist) Met George Butcher (bassist) at University and George Powers (drummer) at 6th form/college and we formed a band in 2025.
What’s the live music scene like in London right now? Anyone we should be looking out for (bar you, of course)?
London scene is decent; there’s always a gig to go and see – a band to check out are What have you done we’re sinking.
Do you think it’s easy to become a victim of our surrounds sometimes?
It can be, from the start we’ve focused on breaking out of London as quickly as we can and playing as many places as possible by throwing DIY shows ourselves. We still play London shows but didn’t want to get caught in the limitations of that.
What are your ambitions for the band?
To get on some great lineups and play as many shows as possible
What’s your favourite social media platform to use and why?
Instagram – it’s a lesser of the evils I suppose
We believe it’s essential to have a presence on Facebook, Instagram and X to introduce yourself to all the different types of audiences out there, what’s your thoughts on that?
It seems that way but that’s not why we got into music – we want to meet people, other bands and music lovers in the flesh. Getting to see a live band play is personally the best way to fall in love with their music, rather than be interested in the content they make or a snippet of their song. With that said the power of social media can’t be underestimated.
What’s your thoughts on AI generated music?
Horrible and inauthentic – its capitalism at its finest.
What’s the biggest thing you have learned recently as you progress with your music?
We’ve learnt most about writing and developing our parts too each other – We’re a 3 piece so we’re really learning to lock into each other and make sure everything is as effective as possible.
What’s currently in your ears and on rotation at the moment?
We recently went on tour and had a wheel spinning app that would select albums we picked to listen to – a favourite of all of ours was the latest Vianova album called Hit It!
What was your worst experience on stage? Any funny stories to share?
My guitar strings have broken in the past and I’ve had to borrow other bands guitars, that’s not happened in a while now ha-ha, I’ve learnt my lesson I use way thicker strings now
I hear you have new music. What can you tell us about it?
It’s a song we’ve been playing since the start of our bands live performances and a song we wrote as a band that really gave us a direction of the sound we wanted to head in. It’s called Let Me Out
What was the recording process like?
Recording was fun, we spent a day at stable bone studios in Limehouse and recorded the main bulk of the song live without a click track, in one day. We then went to our friend Alex Mountfords (formerly of DEAD!) studio who produced and mixed the track for us and added some guitars and layers of texture.
Would you change anything now it’s finished?
Not really, it’s a good representation of where we were about a year ago recording the song – in the last year we’ve progressed a lot and we are writing songs from a different angle now and so we would maybe do things differently if we were to write it today, but to go back and change it now would seem inauthentic.
Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?
Stay tuned for more releases and shows
