Hiya Tuesday, thanks for joining us in the virtual RGM lounge today. Grab a brew and take a seat.
What made you decide that music is a thing for you?
Deciding if music was a thing for me was never a decision it was a promise to myself and from a higher force.
Introduce us to you all and your musical history.
It all started with childhood singing and listening to Tina Turner, The Stones, Queen, Bryan Adams amongst many then I studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama the rest is history.
What’s the live music scene like in Hammersmith/West London right now? Anyone we should be looking out for (bar you, of course)?
There’s a cool indie/funk/rock band called The Pocket based in Hammersmith – kinda sound like The Arctic Monkeys – I like them…
I’ve seen a lot of people struggling for support recently online. What’s your view on the industry? I know a lot of artists can’t make enough money starting out online but they do have a chance of building a big social media presence and perhaps go viral!
Where do you feel you currently sit within the music industry?
I’m like a cat that’s been very nice and purring but now I’m bringing my claws out! Ha ha
Tell us two truths and a lie about you.
I am honest and hardworking but not a Diva! (Well not excessively) lol
Do you ever worry about people taking things the wrong way or cancel culture? Discuss….
I sometimes speak my mind too much on social media – but I’m not scared of being shunned or disliked – I speak my truth from the heart.
Do you sign up to any conspiracy theories? If not, why not?
Well you do know I’m a Vegan Vampire from the planet Zorg…sorry I’m just quoting a name from a zanny conspiracy fueled vampire spoof rockumentary being edited by my producer…lol…but yes some conspiracy theories have some merit while some are just ridiculous!
What was your best experience on stage?
My best experience on stage was singing at the BBC proms – it was exhilarating!
What was your worst experience on stage?
Once my microphone and sound went out mid performance…so I had to carry on singing without it…it actually worked out ok – I think some thought it was part of the act!
Tell us something about you that you think people would be surprised about.
I have a science background, and studied Bsc History and Philosophy of Science at UCL. I like to know how things work and am very curious…
You have a very distinctive female voice – did you have vocal training?
Thank you – I’ve always had a deeper ‘growling’ tone to my voice but have trained for 3 years with a vocal coach to reach other notes. It’s now just instinctual to me but I do have to warm my voice up before performing and take care of it!! It’s my instrument baby! Ha ha
What are the next steps you plan to take as a singer to reach the next level?
I have my single coming out on Valentine’s day so I will promote and do my upcoming performances to get it noticed!
I hear you have new music. What can you tell us about it?
The new single track is called ‘Seeking Arrangements’ – A cheeky/raw glam rock take on the dating site apps so much available to people nowadays.
What was the recording process like?
It was quite a mission to get the right recording done – we used a few studios – but everyone involved was great in the end – I loved it – a dream come true.
What was the biggest learning curve in writing the new tunes?
I worked with my producer to get it right – it really helps having such great musical experience behind you.
Would you change anything now it’s finished?
I wouldn’t change a thing – top notch!
Is there anything else you would like to share with the world?
Just do it! As a well know sports clothing brand might say…lol…oh and One Love as Bob Marley would say xx
