Toronto based quartet SWiiMS not only have an amazing logo, but they create music without boundaries. Returning with their second single to date, ‘Let You Down‘ from their upcoming EP “Through Waves” out this Friday.
Blending dream-pop with fragrances of shoegaze, ‘Let You Down‘ is a golden glow into what the EP will showcase. With a subtle addition of surf-rock in the mix, the jangly guitar pop number blends the 60s era with today’s refreshing sound.
Detailing the stages of a relationship, the track’s instrumentation soars with intensity, representing lust and infatuation. While the track also details failed experiences of love, ‘Let You Down‘ certainly lives up to expectation from SWiiMS debut ‘Fill Me Up’. Arranged perfectly, the track has all the highs and lows of a relationship in one.
Even though SWiiMS are at the beginning of their journey, their career is already looking to be huge. A rare find in the world’s chaotic industry, SWiiMS could well become the new face of shoegaze.
Just one thing to add as words of advice for SWiiMS… keep releasing music, because what we’re hearing so far is fantastic.
