Ted Vendramin,

Ted Vendramin, Interview – RGM Introducing

Hiya Ted, thanks for joining us in the virtual RGM lounge today. Grab a brew and take a seat.

Thanks for joining us today…

What’s the live music scene like in Marbella, Spain right now?

Marbella has a big scene for cover bands, there are only a few places for original songs. You have places like LOUIE LOUIE that accept bands with original songs and it a nice place to play

Anyone we should be looking out for (bar you, of course)?

Not yet I’m still finishing up details for my next album called “DOZE” so I won’t be doing any tour in Europe. I will present DOZE in Argentina  In Liverpool Club. That will be September the 25th. It a small venue for 300 people and I will play for free for family, friends and some people of the industry

Do you think its easy to become a victim of of our surrounds sometimes?

I believe that it affects us at some point but we can always overcome this. It’s a matter of taking some time for yourself at least once a day doing something you love or only just being by yourself, no phones, no tv. In my case music

What are your ambitions for the band?

I’m a solo artist, I would like for people to hear the songs and make them their own. To go further than just listening to. To feel the songs

Whats your favourite social media platform to use and why?

Mainly Facebook and Instagram. I think both of them have the reach I need to get people hear my songs

We believe its essential to have a presence on Facebook, Instagram and X to introduce yourself to all the different types of audiences out there, what’s your thoughts on that?

I do agree, today the world is more on social media than anywhere else. Ibid I’m not much of a user

What’s your view on the Music industry today?

Really bad, songs don’t have soul anymore. Not many people now take the time to write a song . Everything goes so fast that they do to beats, give an effect to the voice and out to music platforms. Most of the songs now sound quite the same to me.

Whats your thoughts on AI generated music?

I wouldn’t use it. What’s the point in writing music if you don’t express in the song a feeling, hearbreak, a betrayal , love.. doesn’t make sense to me

Whats the biggest thing you have learned recently as you progress with your music?

I always learn doing music. I learned to not be afraid or ashamed on what I write, this album showed me that I can express everything freely without my own or some else’s judgement

What’s currently in your ears and on rotation at the moment?

I hearing a lot of old music now. I’m came back to Led Zeppelin’s number III

What was your worst experience on stage? Any funny stories to share?

It been many years since i don’t perform. But worst a string of my guitar broke, instead of keep playing I got desperate and went down to our backstage room searching for a guitar. Then i realized that I was singing the song and left the band alone.

I hear you have new music. What can you tell us about it?

Yes, I have a 15 song album coming. I’ve been working on it with my producer Nicolas Getzrow for almost 4 years now. DOZE, is the tittle and it goes from distorted guitars With solos, big drums and bass, to a completely acoustic song with strings

What was the recording process like?

It was hard because my band is in Argentina and I’m in Marbella. So to have the songs properly recorded we worked really hard in our demos so the songs where all finish and we didn’t make big mistakes recording

Would you change anything now it’s finished?

Vocals. I always want to change the vocals. Seems that doesn’t matter how many times I sing the songs, I always believe they can be better
