The Ariston “Fire” – Single Review

Spreading like wild fire, blazing their way through is the London four-piece indie-rock outfit The Ariston. Following a buzzing festival run, the band is set to release their debut EP and an exciting headline show at The Dome.

With that they bring ‘Fire’, the lead track to this upcoming EP and the perfect opener to what is coming for us.

With a slow, wilted start, we ease in slowly guided by Luca (vocals/ guitar)’s slightly hoarse but devoted voices. It fleshes out into an emotionally potent chorus ingrained in crashing drums and tender guitars.

Resonating like a melodramatic ending song, the charged chorus strums nostalgic 2010s indie-rock sentiments as the chords layers on top of each other, like fire spreading, pushing us to the climax.

The highlight has to be the audio pan edging the bridge before the drop in the final chorus. From a kindle to enormous flames that consume you whole, we reach the climax of the song with a sense of urge to drop everything and dive into the reckless version of yourself.

‘Fire’ abruptly cuts off on a note, maybe the burning passion would not last forever. But just like the recurring image of the leafless tree burnt to brittle strands in both the music video and album cover, it still stands — this is just the beginning.
