It’s become very apparent to me that the Leigh indie band like to live up to their name. Wining the lottery comes with very long odds indeed. I refer to their gig at the O2 Forum Kentish Town.
Hosting a gig 200 miles from there home town, and local support might seem a stretch for some bands possibly?
However having a gig in London on the same day London as not one but two huge political demonstrations, also add to that, Wembley also host the F.A cup final, but to be fair Manchester City were one half of the final. May have brought in some home town support?
But to add to their gigs possible woes it was on the same night as the biggest music event in the world,Eurovision might seem suicidal in terms of attendance. However they needn’t have concerned themselves, obviously.
O2 Forum Kentish Town was full to capacity with excellent support from The Tullamarines, and Tom .A.Smith, two hugely entertainment bands.
Tom.A.Smith lead singer seemed to have concerns with sound values “ not enough Base in the room.?” Turns out he was correct ,and had the room bouncing with their Song : Let’s get some bass in this room. Excellent!
The main event did not disappoint .
If you want to talk about lead men Thom Rylance is definitely one you can talk about .The Leigh man definitely leads…
Charismatic talented ,and hilarious to boot. Not only does he entertain the crowd he definatley entertains his band members too. Their enjoyment, and chemistry is clearly evident, not only a band, but family who evidently look out for each other.
Formed in 2008 has band with longevity, with more to offer… At home on any stage. I’ve seen go from local music Festival to Mosfest in Sheffield to Glastonbury in 2023, no problem.
If you’re not a fan because you’ve never heard, or heard of them you, will be once you’ve seen them, leaving you to check where ,and when they’re performing next, and how you can get tickets.
They will definitely leave you with the “feel good factor!”
