THE MAN FROM DELMONTE

THE MAN FROM DELMONTE, THEY SAID YES! AND ARE BACK!

The Man From Delmonte were legendary between 1988 and 1991. Selling out 3000 capacity venues, hitting the top of the Indie charts and having Inspiral Carpets and 808 State as their opening acts.

Mike West, Sheila Seal, Martin Vincent and Howard Goody delivered classic pop tunes including Water in My Eyes and My Love is Like a Gift that were lyrically ahead of their time. Mike wrote and sang about loving men just as easily as he did about relationships with women. The audiences always loved it. The press often treated them with outright biphobia.

After a chance conversation with TV presenter Iain Lee, TMFD are returning to the stage and play their first gig in 34 years. The show at Band on the Wall in Manchester on Wednesday  26th February sold out in 19 minutes, their gig the following night sold out in 3 minutes. The concert at the Manchester Academy 2 on Saturday April 12th is expected to sell out just as fast.

Their two albums (The Good Things in Life and Big Noise) are being rereleased as a double package. Their original manager Jon Ronson (The Psychopath Test, The Men Who Stare at Goats) is flying over from the US to introduce the gig at Band on the Wall.

Chris Addison (The Thick of It, Mock the Week) ‘This is magnificent news! Cannot wait for this.’

Jon Ronson ‘Bloody hell!!! Amazing. I’ll be there.’
