THE PANAMAS - ALWAYS WANT TO SAY (YOU'RE MINE)

The Panamas – Always wanna say (you’re mine) Single Review

Stockport indie-rockers, The Panamas, return with their long-awaited first single since their 2024 EP, It Takes a While. Their new track, Always Wanna Say (You’re Mine), feels like the perfect indie tune, just in time for summer

The song opens with a warm, airy acoustic guitar riff that instantly creates a laid-back vibe before the full band comes in. While the lyrics carry a melancholic story, reflecting a relationship, the instrumentation keeps the track feeling cheery and summery rather than weighed down by sadness.

That contrast is what gives the single its charm, it captures the yearning without ever losing its sense of optimism.

What really completed the track for me comes during the stripped-back breakdown, where everything falls away except the bass and drums. It gives the track room to breathe before the full band comes back in. From there, the song blossoms into an indie summer anthem, packed with that shimmering acoustic guitar layered under the firm bass and a chorus that feels built for festival crowds.

With Always Wanna Say (You’re Mine), The Panamas deliver a confident return for 2026, with a headline show at SOUP (Manchester) this August. The track is 100% going straight to my summer playlist as soon as it’s out!
