THE VAMPS LIVE IN MANCHESTER – WHAT HAPPENED?

British rock pop sensation The Vamps played three sold out shows this week in Manchester to mark their ten year anniversary of their first album. The four piece who were just teens when they hit the scene back in 2014 are still pulling in audiences, albeit a slightly older fan base who have grown with the band.

The 02 Academy was jam packed full of screaming fans who could barely contain their excitement when the boys entered the stage, leaning over the barrier, many holding placards declaring their love.

Frontman Bradley Simpson impressed with his onstage swagger, swapping roles in song two and grabbing a guitar and still maintaining the same high level energy, jumping off platforms, yet maintaining impressive vocals that have made this band who they are today. Track seven, ‘Oh Cecilia’ was followed by a short acoustic interlude, which broke the high octane set down and was a cleverly interweaved contrast, allowing the audience to catch their breath, and have a break from screaming for ten minutes.

This is pop/rock at it’s finest and the four piece have a wonderful on stage rapport. ‘Can We Dance’ is an upbeat number that is clearly answered by the audience who are all dancing enthusiastically . The band have a brilliant connection with their fans, thanking them throughout the gig for being a part of this celebration.

The band finished the set with a generous encore which featured five of their best known tracks, including ‘Risk it All’ and ending the evening with ‘Somebody to You’. The band continue their UK anniversary tour this weekend down south. You can check out what the the band have lined up next below!
