Video Premiere – San Pedro Collective ‘Where Do I Begin’
San Pedro Collective return with their retro second single ‘Where Do I Begin’ which follows their debut release ‘The Demon Sessions EP’ from last year. The band is the new Manchester electro project of Rikki Turner whose previous musical offerings include The Paris Angels, The New Southern Elektrik and The Hurt. Joining Turner in the collaboration is an eclectic collection of musicians, DJ’s, and vocalists based in the UK, Europe and America. Including Suddi Raval (ex member of rave duo Together, known for their hit “Hardcore Uproar”, Simon Wolstencroft (The Fall, Ian Brown, The Stone Roses, Johnny Marr and Freak Party), Keith Higgins (former member of The Hunt), Justin Leonard, Martin Mclaren and Sarah Bouchier (aka Lady B) making her debut on vocals to high acclaim.
Bouchier had this to say about her work with SPC. As seasoned band members how has the experience been of working in this new collective?
“The collective works well, evolve and revolve – we all have other projects too, so works well with a fluid approach. We collaborate- we all chip in with ideas, harmonies, lyrics – a lot comes from jamming!”
While SPCs sound had a nod to 90s house it manages to sound entirely fresh and contemporary. Are you still excited by new music being released?
“Yeah there is some brilliant muzik around at the moment. Digging The Pagans SOH”
Talk us through the video
“Shot by our talented videographer & art director John Dicandia who is based in Melbourne- shots come from his road trip in Nevada and shots from train are of San Pedro itself. The rest was from our rehearsal studio – Pirate in Salford”
What can we expect from the single launch?
“Great music – banging beats, bass & vox – assisted by the legend Clint Boon, our Martin’s other band Pollen Nation & Esteemed Poet Leon the Pig Farmer”
What’s next for SPC?
“Flamenco dancers, new music and festivals…….watch this space!”
