It’s another RGM video premiere, today we have the new video from Jessie Scarlet and her new video Runaway.

“We hadn’t planned anything, other than that we wanted to shoot it on the beach. The song is about a guy I knew, one of those ‘run away from all of the issues you cause’ sorts.
He could never take any proper responsibility for any harm he caused, he just moved onto the next one and I felt like the isolation and the beauty of the beach and the water represented all of the feelings I had at that time of my life. Feeling alone but being surrounded by beauty.
I eventually found liberation in the whole thing when I realised that he wasn’t all that. I ended up WANTING him to run away from me after years of pining. ‘Theres no more corners in this town’ is one of the lyrics, meaning, there’s nothing to be sacred of anymore, no one is going to jump out from a corner and make me feel sad – its done!
Running into the sea at the end of the video has to be one of my favourite moments in my whole life, and Ash was amazing following me in with his cameras – it wasn’t planned, it was totally spontaneous and the sea was so cold!!
My energy was flooding out of me in screams and growls as the waves were crashing behind me, throwing me about and taking my breath away. After filming, we stayed and played in the sea for a bit.
I have ADHD and it was the first time in a long time that I have totally unmasked and had proper unfiltered fun. I was falling over, squealing, completely being myself and Ash captured that moment for me forever. I would do this day over again a thousand times.
Hopefully, you smile when you watch it and feel those feelings of joy and liberation as I finally close a door on that chapter of my life. “
