It’s RGM video premiere time, today we have the new video from Mad Haven and their new video Wasted On You
Here are a few words about the video, enjoy!👊
The song is a song of empowerment for anyone that feels unappreciated or invisible in their current environment to know that it’s OK to walk away and start fresh to save yourself before breaking point.
The song and video symbolises what it’s like to live in a toxic, narcissistic environment. You try your hardest to do the best you can for everyone around you and in return, you get more pressure piled onto you. The more you do, the more they take.
The video starts out with the band performing in a rustic outdoor setting next to skip, with all their equipment set up behind them.
Gradually, throughout the video, things start to deteriorate. Their clothes start becoming noticeably ripped and stained and the set starts to fill with rubbish.
Each tear and stain on the band’s clothes symbolises a situation that has caused upset. Eventually, you stand up and say no, you realise you are worth more and you pluck up the courage to the leave the situation. By this point in the video, the energy is running high, there is rubbish scattered all over the set and the band members look like they’ve been liking in a skip for a week!
As the song flies into the solo, the band are now soaking wet, their clothes completely destroyed and the set completely full of rubbish, with old cans, tea bags, tissues and cardboard flying everywhere!
The very last scene with just the guitar playing is a symbol of what it can feel like in a situation like this. You might feel alone, isolated and like you’re living your life on eggshells.
