It’s RGM video premiere time, today we have the new video from Sweet Unrest and their new video Sunshine.
Here are a few words about the video, enjoy!👊
This video is a casual, heartwarming and charming love letter to our time in Brighton at Great Escape this May. This video is the quintessence of the song and we couldn’t have been blessed with a better opportunity to express everything we did in the song in person. In some ways, it’s not a complicated song, it’s just about enjoying the sunshine, and the video does just that. On another level, the song compares the sunshine to a girl coming and going, the video contains nods to that too, quite consciously. I’ll look forward to watching this video in years to come, and smiling. Everyone has their own version of it, and this song is the perfect soundtrack to each of ours.
What’s really interesting is the timing of this song and video with what’s going on in my life right now. We wrote this song about 3 years ago, long before I met my girlfriend (who features in the video). However, the song seems to fit our current situation perfectly. She is in Glasgow during the winter months at uni, which is difficult for us (“we spent half the year in the shade”). Now, back for summer, “we can walk into the sunshine”.. “I don’t want you to leave”. It was an emotional video for me to edit for this reason. No summer lasts forever, but that’s why we have to make the most of each one we have.
